The Chairman Central Mosque of Brent Dr Raja Amjid Riaz attended the Covenant signing at the House of Commons in Westminster with the Brent Multi Faith Forum BMFF
The Covenant signing was preceded by short talks from Co Chairs of the BMFF Rabbinical Frank Dabba and Mustafa Field and also in attendance was Dawn Butler MP, Georgia Gould MP, Brent Council Leader Mohammad Butt, and Police Inspector Yu Zhang with prominent members of the different faith community were in attendance.
The Convenant which is a framework for work and commitments was signed by all prominent members in order to ensure a framework of working of the firm. Brent is the second most culturally diverse Borough in the UK and the firm is in its 24th year. In the recent riots summer riots Brent remained trouble free.
Dr Raja Amjid Riaz said that working and living in peace with different faiths and cultures was essential and he was proud of being a Brent resident and it’s a social, moral and religious duty to respect all communities.
The hugely successful event uniting the whole community which was followed by a tour of the House of Commons.
